I am frustrated to give them the answer that senior leadership within the Department and the Services has yet to make this issue enough of a priority to make it happen.     Last week, The Washington Post unveiled its, “Top Secret America” series, detailing the billions of dollars in private, commercial intelligence operations that have formed since September 11, 2001, which the Post calls our "fourth branch" of government. The recent series of Washington Post articles investigating the US Intelligence Community has highlighted a critical issue facing our nation. Yesterday, Congressman Mike Conaway (R-TX-11) sent a letter urging Vivek Kundra, the Chief Information Officer of the Office of Management and Budget to help the Intelligence Community receive a clean financial audit on the annually appropriated National Intelligence Program funding.
