U.S. Representative Mike Conaway, R-Midland, will be one of the guest speakers at the Lamesa Cotton Growers annual meeting here next week.
Conaway currently is serving as the chairman of the General Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee of the House Agriculture Committee.
In that position, he is expected to play a major role in developing the next U.S. Farm Bill.
The luncheon will begin at 12 noon at the Forrest Park Community Center along South Houston Avenue in Lamesa. The luncheon is free, but everyone planning to attend is asked to call the Dawson County AgriLife Extension office in advance at 872-3444 so that organizers will know how many meals to prepare.
