Congressman Conaway serves as the Vice Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee. In this role, he advocates for policies that ensure veterans receive the health care and benefits they have earned and deserve.

As a veteran himself, Congressman Conaway has led multiple efforts to protect veterans’ access to crucial resources such as food assistance and health care. He has also introduced legislation to protect veterans’ private information from bad-faith actors within the Trump administration.

In response to the Trump administration’s federal hiring freeze, which affected more than 40,000 positions at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Conaway joined fellow committee members in demanding transparency and action to prevent disruptions in veterans’ access to health care and benefits.

Congressman Conaway is committed to ensuring that veterans receive the care and support they have earned by advocating for policies that uphold their dignity and well-being.
