Conaway on Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Herb Conaway Jr., MD released the following statement marking the anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001:
“On this day, 24 years ago, our nation suffered a horrific attack. Today, we remember and mourn the lives lost in the World Trade Centers, Pentagon and on Flight 93. For many of us September 11th 2001, is seared into our memory forever.
“We remember the 750 New Jersey residents who lost their lives on 9/11, and I stand firmly with the families who continue to grieve their loss. We will always remember the heroic first responders from New York and New Jersey who bravely, faced danger head-on to save lives and recover those trapped in the aftermath.
“While it is imperative that we keep alive the memories of the friends, neighbors, and loved ones we lost, we must also renew our commitment to supporting those who continue to face health challenges arising from their heroic actions on that day. I remain steadfast in my dedication to ensuring that the heroes of 9/11 and their families receive all the resources that they need and deserve.
“As we observe this solemn anniversary, we also celebrate the resilience and strength of our communities, state, and nation. In one of our darkest moments, it was our shared unity that carried us through.”
